Labview Modbus Serial Examples

Modbus serial to USB converter and LABView By wakho on 28 July, 2017 - 12:49 pm I am looking to control a TEMPCO TEC-9100 temperature controller using LABView and MODBUS protocol.

There are example VIs included with the NI Modbus library. I was able to use the MB Serial Example Master.vi to read and write to the DL06 without any modifications. The DL06 is at firmware V2.60. The serial connection was from the PC COM1 to the DL06 PORT 1 using a D2-DSCBL cable. VI settings were 9600 baud with odd parity, no flow control. In order to read and write to V400 (remember it is in OCTAL notation) you will need to read and write from register starting address 256 (effective address is 257).

There is a good app note for doing the address conversions at. See AN-MISC-010. There are example VIs included with the NI Modbus library. The Problem We like cheap, well-made temperature controllers. Sure, we can make our own, but for a modest sum we can get a nice NEMA-rated package capable of reasonably complex logic with a communications interface. The Love 4C and 16C controllers can both be had for.
