For one thing, if it's windows base, you can play lots of pc games on it. Especially, if you have a steam account. There are many android games available too but, it's not really a triple A type of game. Retro gaming would be easy with Retroarch! Frankly, I really prefer the form factor of the DS lite.

And, you don't need internet or logging into servers. For long train, car, bus rides or holidays, you don't have to worry about finding wifi to connect. Just open up your system and play!
